What Is Sentence Correction?

You are given a sentence with a mistake, and you must choose the correct version.

Incorrect Sentence

❌ He don't know me.

Correct Sentence

✔ He doesn't know me.

Most Important SSC GD Rules

1. Subject–Verb Agreement Errors

Very common in SSC GD exams.

❌ He go to school.

✔ He goes to school.

❌ They is late.

✔ They are late.

2. Tense Errors

Watch for incorrect tense usage.

❌ I have saw the movie.

✔ I have seen the movie.

❌ She is go to market.

✔ She is going to market.

3. Pronoun Errors

Pronouns must match properly.

❌ Everyone must bring their book.

✔ Everyone must bring his/her book.

❌ Me and Riya are friends.

✔ Riya and I are friends.

4. Article Errors

a / an / the mistakes are very common.

❌ He is a honest man.

✔ He is an honest man.

(h is silent)

❌ I saw a sun.

✔ I saw the sun.

5. Preposition Errors

Basic SSC mistakes with common prepositions.

❌ She is good in maths.

✔ She is good at maths.

❌ They discussed about the plan.

✔ They discussed the plan.

❌ He is married with her.

✔ He is married to her.

6. Double Negative Error

Two negatives cannot be used together.

❌ I don't know nothing.

✔ I don't know anything.

7. Misplaced Words

Word must be placed correctly for proper meaning.

❌ He almost drove the kids to school every day.

✔ He drove the kids to school almost every day.

8. Comparison Errors

When comparing, use proper words.

❌ She is better than me.

✔ She is better than I.

(but "me" is accepted informally — SSC prefers "I")
